The formula for success, happiness and self-mastery in this system is a simple but powerful three-step process:

1. Discover your Role.

2. Integrate it with your Perspective.

3. Operate from their positive poles.

I hope by now you recognize whether you are a Priest or whether it is your secondary Role. Identifying your Role is the first step on a lifelong journey of self-discovery. The insight needs to be confirmed and applied in daily life on an ongoing basis for best results, so requires commitment, but with practice it becomes second nature. The reward of self-transformation is well worth the effort.

Secondary Role Influences for Priests

One of the most important factors influencing the personality variations between people who share the same Role is the secondary Role. This colours, flavours and generally modifies your personality. The combination works like an omelette: your primary Role is the egg, while your secondary Role is the added ingredient – cheese, mushroom, tomato. Sometimes the flavour is subtle, sometimes it overpowers the egg. Similarly, the secondary Role can manifest more strongly than the primary Role, particularly if it corresponds with your profession. Some people have the same Role in both the primary and secondary position, so will conform more closely with the Role archetype. If this is your case, you will probably recognize yourself quite easily. This section summarizes the influence of the other six Roles on Priests.

Artisan-Priests

A very creative combination, adding beauty and style to inspiration. These Priests dress with flair, though may feel guilty about having an interest in fashion. Women may look like fairy-tale princesses or enchantresses and become muses. They are likely to channel their inspiration into a creative endeavour, sometimes as artists. Their work will have a spiritual or religious flavour and may be full of complex symbolism. In daily life they will have greater mechanical aptitude than is usual for Priests. The master masons who built Europe’s great cathedrals probably had this combination, as do some of the greatest composers and singers of classical and popular music. Artisan-Priests are brilliant at devising unique, colourful and fun rituals and ceremonies. They are likely to be very ungrounded and may be uncomfortable in their bodies and the material world generally, so need to exercise and do other physical activities to ground themselves.

Sage-Priests

With this combination Priests will be even more charismatic than usual, with a dazzling personality. These Priests know how to work their charm to achieve their ends and will be brilliant on the PR and promotional side. They are likely to be torn between the pulpit and the stage as career choices. A Broadway lyricist described theatre as his church and clapping and praying as looking the same. As actors or rock stars they will use their art to put across a message and their celebrity to support good causes. This is also one of the best combinations for writing and some of the greatest poets, dramatists and novelists have it. Alternatively, these Priests make successful hucksters and snake-oil salesmen. Intimacy is not their forte
